Space Systems Finland and the Bound-T tool

Abstract (position statement)
We believe that WCET analysis tools should be widely, easily and
cheaply available, especially for small-scale but large-volume embedded
real-time systems. For this to happen, WCET tools should be
- as independent of the source language and compiler
as possible,
- available for many target processors, small and large,
- easily portable to new target processors, perhaps by the
users themselves,
- able to handle simple programs automatically.
While the problem of overestimated WCET values is severe in some
applications, we believe that these are in the minority. Our statement
will describe how these beliefs are addressed by Bound-T, the WCET tool
we are developing.
